Jessie J Concert (Video & Photos) — Can it be more green?

2015 Winter — Brixton, London, UK

.

I went to Jessie J Concert with my college friend — it was MIND-BLOWING show… Her energy was crazy (of course, in a good way) โค We liked her before, but now we LOVELOVELOVE her.. Anyway, there was some preview shows by other unknown artists in the concerts (just like all the other concerts in US or UK) and then Jessie J showed up around 9pm.Yet, after the show, watching all the trashes on the venue, I was wondering if we can make concerts more green…?

While waiting for Jessie J to come up to the stage, which took almost an hour and a half, I just got bored and took photos of people — I spotted aย cute T-shirt ofย anonymous intense fan of Jessie J ๐Ÿ˜€

She definitely knows how to engage the audience to her show! Loved her stage manner โค

She was so adorable/gorgeous/amazing… just everything โค ย She said she’s personally attached toย Brixton, since she auditioned for a band in Brixton, whichย was her initial career as a musician — so she sang what she sang in her audition back in the day *woot woot* *privilege for those who came to Brixton concert* . . .

Compiled Video clips of her show

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AG4dQxeJBY8 . . But just one sad thing was that the venue was definitely not under control… There was a bar in the venue, so people were drinking before or during the show — and most of them just threw away the cups, bottles, trashes.

And while I was taking photo of the venue after the show, a drunken audience (lol) was photobombing. She probably would not remember it haha ๐Ÿ˜€

SUNNYFEED

The difference between Korean concerts and UK/US concerts is that there are guest (mostly not popular) singers before the main musician in UK/US performances. I found it quite annoying at first because most people would have paid for their tickets to see the main singer. But after watching several shows in US and UK, it seems like the main singer cannot handle full 4-hour length of the show anyway (since the scale of the shows in UK/US are usually much bigger and crazier); and such system provides good opportunities for unpopular singers/ indie singers to become more public. About all those trashes, I think it’s some kind of eternal problem for most of the show venues including public events like Olympics or World Cup as well. People are becoming more aware of such issues and surprisingly there were some occasionsย that many people spare their time to clean up the venues after the show. But that’s not always the case ๐Ÿ˜ฅ . . . .

I actually do not really have a great idea about how this problem can be solved.

Anyone out there has experienced this OR

has any suggestion for GREEN CONCERT?
Would love to hear about it!

  1. Love the photos – they are showing the good vibe.
I don’t know if this would work at concerts – but at this funfair in Denmark they keep down the amount of trash by serving drinks in plastic recycle cups. People pay 50 pence extra when they buy their drink and then when they have finished their drink, they can hand in the cups at these recyclable stands and get their 50 pence back. Maybe it could work at big concert venues as well.

    1. Denmark is amazing. The best example of a vaguely sustainable mainstream gig/festival in the UK is Glastonbury. Of course everyone has to travel there for a short weekend and people still drop huge amounts of litter, some even just leave their tents at the end. But Glastonbury festival organisers organise loads of people to litter pick (often they are students who then get cheaper tickets) and to recycle what they find. There are also lots of staff/members of charities such as Greenpeace and Wateraid (I think, you will need to check what it is this year) who help people and get many new recruits – plus an opportunity to prosletyze. For less mainstream have a look at what Resurgence members get up to. It’s all veggie and vegan and very co-operative. Nicola http://islingtonfacesblog.com
